Name That Squash

In early spring, I planted some yellow crook neck squash. I had planted them in those little 6 pack things you normally get flowers in, and I kept them inside the house because it's freezing usually until June. Well, in June I planted them in my garden. One plant in particular came right up, really fast. It is taking up almost 1/3 of my garden! It has tons of huge flowers on it too.

About 2 weeks ago it started to produce a squash. Every day I would run outside and check on it. Now this squash is really strange! It isn't growing like a crook neck squash normally does. It looks more like a honey dew melon! Now I have looked all over the internet to find out if maybe it's a different squash - like maybe a stray seed got into my seed packet or something. I have found plenty of ornamental squashes that are round. And plenty of green ones too, but it is still a pale yellow. See picture below...

I'm really interested in seeing what my "weird squash" will do over the next few weeks. Anyone have an idea what it is, let me know! :D

Have a marvelous and sunny day!
